In the April 6 election for the Unit 5 School Board, the Unit Five Support Professionals Association recommends the following candidates:
- Kentrica Coleman is a strong believer in the potential of each student and is passionate about strengthening equity and engagement for all. Building on her commitment to community service, she strives to engage families in the overarching goal of bridging the achievement gap. She will focus on educating families about district programs and pursue opportunities for collaboration with data-driven touch points at the heart of those discussions. As an advocate of diverse populations, she will open a pipeline between multiple cultures and groups to advocacy organizations who support them. If elected to the McLean County Unit 5 school board, Kentrica Coleman’s goal will be to link arms with all stakeholders to help students to learn, and ultimately, to thrive.
- Stan Gozur is deeply passionate about service and seeks out opportunities to develop strong bonds within the community. He is dedicated to strengthening the foundation of our elementary schools and will strive to provide each student with a solid start that will carry them through graduation and beyond. To reach this goal, he will leverage his experience in finance and recruitment through targeted budgetary revisions and by attracting a diverse group of strong educators to the district. If elected to the McLean County Unit 5 school board, Stan Gozur will seek to understand the impact of the board’s decision-making through honest conversations with community members, district administration, school staff, and the families that they serve.
- Ericka Ralston believes in strong public schools that leverage the talents and insights of the diverse families they serve. She has experience in community outreach and is motivated to continue that important work by providing a voice for students, families, and educators in the McLean County Unit 5 school district. Through listening and valuing volunteerism, she looks forward to serving in a manner that is positive and welcoming. If elected as a school board member, Ericka Ralston will make it her mission to engage with all community stakeholders for the well-being and personal excellence of each student.
